Music legends, Boyzone, are to play on Music Showcase Saturday, 28 July.
Celebrating twenty-five years together, Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are the second of three music acts to be named for the 2018 season, with Paloma Faith already confirmed for Saturday 30 June and Friday evening 27 July, where the act is yet to be confirmed.
Six UK Number One singles, more than 13 million record sales and four Brit Awards serve only to tell part of the story of a band who burst onto the scene with their appearance on the Late Late Show back in 1993.
Expect to hear hits including, No Matter What, Words Picture of You and Father and Son.
Looking forward to a return to York, where he recently starred in Panto, Shane Lynch said; I cant wait to be back in York, being back together promises to be great fun. Weve always loved outdoor shows and cant wait to make some more memories with our fans!

Afternoon racing at York Racecourse
The position of the stage for 2018 is the same as our Music Showcase Weekend from recent years, at the southern end of Bustardthorpe Lawn on the main grandstand side parallel to the track (see image top and bottom). We will make good use of the giant screens and an enhanced sound system to add to the experience of both music and racing for all racegoers. Again this year we have invested in the sound and light system. - Please note in order to get closest to the stage racegoers will need to book entry to County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock; thereafter there are no reserved positions. Admission price reflects the wider facilities provided for the duration of the raceday and does not reflect any reserved position or preferential view of the stage. -
MUSIC RACEDAYS; Saturday 28th July - Children aged 5-15 need a ticket, maximum two children per adult. - Racegoers aged 16 and 17 years old need a paid for admission, however they do not need to be accompanied. - Limited number of child tickets available, once this allocation has been reached the full adult price ticket applies.
Under 16 required to have an accompanying adult. - Given the open air nature of the racecourse, the main viewing area in front of the stage is exposed to the weather and does not have a roof. - The main viewing area is standing, although a disabled viewing platform is available. Reserved seating/positions are not available in relation to the music stage. Quick guide for York Races plus music events - So that as many people as possible can get the best sight and sound, in front of the stage, there will be no furniture in this area.
During racing, casual seating is available around the course including in the specially created, Bustardthorpe Lawn Extension. - It is planned that the live music will finish between 7pm and 7.30pm on the Saturday. As the event is a combined ticket for racing and music, guests are expected to be at the racecourse by the time of the last race. We hope you arrive for the first race on each day and so enjoy the full experience.
Gates open at 11.15am on Saturday. - Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket, collared shirt and tie in County Stand. Most would choose to wear smart trousers and formal shoes to complete the look. So whilst there is no formal restriction on wearing jeans and trainers, these are rarely seen in the County Stand. If we are fortunate and the events take place during a heatwave then please watch our website and social media for any updates on the dress code. - It is not possible to bring your own food and drinks into the advance booked enclosures however there is a wide range of food and drink options available on the day, please see the website www.yorkracecourse.co.uk for more details.
Given that we are both a sporting and concert venue, we hope visitors will appreciate that there are other guidelines in operation with regard to where drinks, and in particular glass can be carried. Our house wines are available in a special plastic bottle and we will be asking customers to drink from plastic glasses in many areas. - In common with most concert venues, drinks will not be allowed in the area immediately in front of the stage; it is simply not fair on your fellow racegoers as inevitably there would be spills. - On a practical level, the racecourse has significantly increased its provision in areas such as toilets or good food to go outlets. However, these are likely to be busy at key times, such as those nearest the stage immediately before the concert. Please use facilities in all areas of the racecourse.
